It's always best to have some form of maintenance on your clippers, but don't let that put you off - these are basic things that will ensure years of loyal service. The first thing you need to do is very simple: "Clean after every time use." Aside from the obvious hygiene reasons, regular cleaning is better for the blade as it removes any grease residue from the previous cutting process. Use a clipper cleaning spray. Add a small amount of blade oil to the blade and brush it thoroughly with a cleaning brush or cloth." As long as you don't fully soak your nail clippers in oil (which can damage some blades), you're gold.
